Sweet Pea's Garden
Special Things to Make and Do
This is a large format paperback book, measuring 24 x 32 cms (9½ x 12½ inches) and is the latest release in the Flower Fairies Friends™ Series, the publication date is July 2005, so it should be available from now.
Essentially this is an activity book for small children, although it is not recommended for those under three.
There are 15 activity projects in the book - of varying degrees of difficulty, all easily done by small children, although some of the activities may require more help than others.
Each activity is very loosely connected with a particular flower fairy, such as Michaelmas Daisy's Flower Pot (decorating a flower pot and planting in it) or Crocus's Dancing Silhouettes (press out templates provided) ...
... consiquently the book is intersperced with the familiar flower fairy illustrations, along with very well laid out and illustrated step by step instructions on completing each task. Somewhat reminiscent of Blue Peter days!
Activities include making - pressed flowers; greetings cards; scented lavender sachets (this by the Laveder fairy of course!); a cornflower crown and so on.
The cover says over 50 stickers inside, the center spread of the book is the sticker page and I counted 55 - of which 26 are actual flower fairies (including a few gift tags) the rest are flower heads, leaves or fruit. I would say that the stickers are of good quality, well printed and nice sharp images.
In my view this is an excellent book, perfect for a young flower fairies fan or even a young girl who is not yet familiar with the series.
I have given this book a most unusual five star rating, regular readers will know I am generally a harsh critic! The pubished price is £ 4.99
